The key to whether glioblastoma patients respond to targeted therapy with Tarceva (erlotinib) or Iressa (gefitinib) may be whether their tumors express two key molecular markers. If the markers are there, the patients are more than 50 times more likely to respond than if they aren't, reported Paul Mischel, M.D., of the University of California at Los Angeles and colleagues in the Nov. 10 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
